BOYS DIVISION

Classes Start Week of Aug. 8th 2022

Boys dance, too, at Georgia Dance Conservatory! GDC’s Boys Classes create an environment where young male dancers have the opportunity to come together and study under the guidance of a male teacher. GDC’s Boys Classes are recommended as an addition to the young male dancer’s other weekly classes in the Studio, Teen, or Company Division.

Boys’ Hip Hop

(Ages 10-17)

Georgia Dance Conservatory’s Male Hip-Hop class is a fun and engaging class where students will craft core skills in the fundamental styles of hip-hop like waving, popping, tutting, and breaking, while also learning the latest trends in dance culture. Students will learn to understand musicality, texture, and versatility in movement as they build confidence through dance performance. Each class will combine choreography and fundamental training to create a strong foundation in the style while inspiring them to grow and find excitement in expressing themselves through dance.

Boys’ Ballet

(Ages 7-11)

Georgia Dance Conservatory’s Male Ballet classes provide dancers with a foundational education of the Vaganova method of ballet technique while instilling a deep sense of self discipline. Warm up exercises at the ballet barre focus on proper alignment of the spine, external rotation (turnout), and strength of the legs, feet, and core. Center combinations including allegro (jumps) and across the floor exercises develop  higher levels of coordination and movement through space. Emphasis is placed on proper execution of technique in order to provide a thorough understanding of ballet as a classical art-form and to ensure the safety of the dancer.

Class Schedule

Our classes are scheduled throughout the week for your convenience, including Saturday. All class sizes in the Pre-Primary Division are limited to 10 dancers. If you have any questions, at g.d.c.desk@georgiadance.com or call us at 770-426-0007

Dress Code for Male Dancers

GDC’s dress code requirements are designed to support an optimal dance experience for all students. Dressing the part allows the dancer to be fully prepared for the demands of class, ensures safety, and sets the tone for the level of focus while instilling a sense of confidence and pride in the dancer’s appearance.
