
Kathy McBeth
Ms. McBeth began her dance training in California with Mr. Richard Nordt, RAD and Madame Maria Bekefi. In 1966, she became a member of the Royal Academy of Dance. In 1972, she was invited by Mr. Robert Barnett to join The Atlanta Ballet, where she was a principal dancer for 12 years. As a principal, Ms. McBeth danced a variety of roles choreographed by George Balanchine, Todd Bolender, John Clifford, Robert Barnett, Saeko Ichinoe, Norbert Vesak and Tom Pazik as well as many traditional classical and modern works. She continued her performing career as a guest artist with her partner, Ron Jones until their retirement in 1997.
From 1984-1990, she was Ballet Mistress for the Atlanta Ballet II and a principal teacher with The Atlanta School of Ballet. In 1992, she became Associate Artistic Director of Capital City Ballet under the direction of the late Tom Pazik and in 1993 accepted the position of Artistic Director. She is the Trustee for the Choreography of Mr. Pazik and has staged many of his ballets for GMDT, Dance Theatre of TN, Ballet Hawaii, and Greenville Ballet.
Ms. McBeth has taught all over the U.S. including the GA Governors Honors Program, the 50th Anniversary SERBA Festival and many summer intensives. Ms. McBeth has been with GDC and GMDT as a teacher and rehearsal coach since 2000.
