
Mary Rose Gibson
Mary Rose Gibson began studying dance at Georgia Dance Conservatory when she was three. She danced pre-professionally with the Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre for nine years. She then attended Brenau University where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Dance and a minor in Small Business Management.
During her time at Brenau, she was a company member in the Gainesville Ballet Company, where she had the opportunity to dance in both classical and contemporary ballet works. Some of the roles she has performed include “Snow Queen,” “Dew Drop Fairy,” and “Arabian Soloist” in The Nutcracker, “Elsa” in A Frozen Ballet, and the “Fairy Godmother” in Into Grimm’s Woods.In addition, she has had the honor of working with notable choreographers such as Anthony Burrell, Arturo Fernandez, and Armando Luna.
Mary Rose has received additional training through summer programs with the Alonzo King LINES Ballet and Ballet Magnificat!. In addition to teaching, she now dances professionally with City Gate Dance Theater in Atlanta. She is excited to be back teaching in her “second home” at GDC!
