GDC’s Primary Dance Division aims to establish basic classroom etiquette and primary coordination while continuing to foster a joy for movement. Each class includes work in the center, across the floor, and stretching to create body awareness that will enhance motor skills. Our Primary Combo classes provide exposure to two disciplines of dance which alternate every other week. All Primary Division classes perform in GDC’s annual Recital.
Georgia Dance Conservatory’s Primary Ballet classes introduce young children to the fundamentals of classical ballet, focusing on proper body alignment, basic ballet technique, terminology, and musicality.

Dress Code for Primary Level Students
GDC’s dress code requirements are designed to support an optimal dance experience for all students. Dressing the part allows the dancer to be fully prepared for the demands of class, ensures safety, and sets the tone for the level of focus while instilling a sense of confidence and pride in the dancer’s appearance.
